Job Title: Line & Grade Surveyor

GR Birdwell Construction is seeking a skilled Line & Grade Surveyor to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for providing accurate and precise survey calculations, analysis, and layout services for our projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct survey calculations, analysis, and as-builts to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Verify field survey data, including measurements and calculations, to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with project management and field crews to identify and resolve job-related problems.
  • Perform site layout and setup, including the use of survey equipment and supplies.
  • Order and maintain surveying equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure the accuracy and precision of surveying equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in the layout of work, including the use of tape, level rod, prism pole, plumb bob, and other tools.
  • Drive stakes, hubs, and grade nails to ensure accurate and precise layout.
  • Align and plumb all types of forms to ensure accurate and precise layout.
  • Assist in the setting of anchor bolts and imbeds to ensure accurate and precise layout.
  • Verify layout to ensure no misalignments or inaccuracies.
  • Assist in checking the accuracy of surveying equipment through pegging, double-centering, or other methods.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience with construction surveying.
  • Strong math skills, including algebra and trigonometry.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently within a team and coordinate work activities.
  • Ability to exert physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to pass a hair follicle drug screen and background check.
