Job Summary

G R Birdwell Construction is seeking a skilled Construction Surveyor to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for providing accurate and precise survey calculations, analysis, and as-builts.

Responsibilities
  • Survey Calculations and Analysis: Responsible for conducting survey calculations, analysis, and as-builts to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Field Verification: Verifies the accuracy of field survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
  • Problem-Solving: Checks field crews at project locations for job-related problems and resolves issues in a timely manner.
  • Special Requests: Checks on special requests and complaints as requested by project management.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Sets-up, cleans, and maintains surveying equipment and supplies.
  • Supply Management: Orders supplies as needed to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Equipment Storage: Stores equipment to prevent damage or theft.
  • Site Preparation: Ensures the area where control is being installed is clean and acceptable.
  • Layout Assistance: Participates in the layout of work by holding the end of the tape, level rod, prism pole, plumb bob, or other similar tools.
  • Form Alignment: Aligns and plumbs all types of forms.
  • Anchor Bolt Setting: Assists in the setting of anchor bolts and imbeds.
  • Survey Verification: Verifies layout to ensure no misalignments or inaccuracies by coming off of a different control point/line.
  • Equipment Calibration: Assists in checking accuracy of surveying equipment through pegging, double-centering, or other methods.
  • Attention to Detail: Performs work with persistence for perfection (close doesn't count).
Requirements
  • Experience: Has demonstrated experience with construction surveying.
  • Teamwork: Must possess the skills to work effectively and efficiently within a team and coordinate work activities.
  • Math Skills: Must demonstrate strong math skills that include the practical use of algebra and trigonometry.
  • Weather Conditions: Must be willing to work in all kinds of weather and working conditions.
  • Physical Demands: Must have ability to exert physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Background Check: Be able to pass hair follicle drug screen and background check.
