Position Overview

The Facility Maintenance Technicians will be tasked with ensuring the safe operation of facility processes and equipment, along with performing preventative maintenance and repairs on that equipment. The Facility Maintenance Technician will collaborate closely with fellow technicians to guarantee that facility operations and equipment comply with local, state, and federal regulations while providing essential support to production lines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee facility equipment to optimize operational efficiency and assist in managing spare parts inventory.
  • Conduct repairs on equipment to restore it to safe and proper working conditions.
  • Collect data readings and maintain logs to adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Troubleshoot operational processes and make adjustments as needed to ensure peak performance.
  • Utilize handheld instruments such as voltage meters, gas detection meters, and pH meters.
  • Ensure that production schedules are upheld and not compromised due to equipment failures or unsafe conditions.
  • Consistently follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures on unsafe equipment or during servicing.
  • Complete work orders to ensure preventive and predictive maintenance according to manufacturer recommendations.
  • Maintain organized workspaces to meet housekeeping and 5-S standards.
  • Execute electrical and mechanical repairs/projects as directed by the Facilities Manager.
  • Prioritize safety and comply with all environmental regulations.
  • Initiate and complete additional tasks, projects, and special assignments as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
  • Participate as a member of the on-site emergency response team.
  • Adhere to Process Safety Management (PSM), Risk Management Plan (RMP), and permit requirements by maintaining equipment and documentation related to the performance, maintenance, and repair of processes and equipment governed by these standards.

Required Skills

  • Experience in operating processes with the ability to troubleshoot and rectify operational issues.
  • Familiarity with chemical handling and safe practices associated with it.
  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, mechanical chillers, boilers, HVAC systems, pumps, gauges, and valves.
  • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills with proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

Education and Experience

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 8 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting within the facilities group.
  • Licensed operator of a wastewater treatment system.
  • Knowledge of mechanical chillers, cooling towers, emission scrubbers, boilers, industrial air compressors, water treatment systems, and HVAC systems.
  • Associate degree or certificate from a technical trade school or higher.
  • Military experience in a mechanical capacity.
