Job Summary:

Odle Management is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Cook Helper. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, assisting with food preparation and serving, and providing exceptional customer service to our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a Clean and Safe Environment: Ensure that the kitchen and dining areas are clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Assist with Food Preparation and Serving: Assist the cook in preparing and serving food, including making coffee, tea, and other beverages, and preparing salads and salad dressings.
  • Monitor Stockroom Commodities: Assist the cook in monitoring stockroom commodities and ensuring that inventory levels are adequate.
  • Clean and Sanitize Equipment and Appliances: Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and appliances, including dish-washing equipment.
  • Replenish Supplies: Replenish napkin dispensers, plate and silverware racks, and other supplies as needed.
  • Assist with Food Transfers: Assist in moving and transferring food ingredients from storage to cooking areas and storing food supplies.
  • Attend Staff Training Sessions: Attend required staff training sessions to ensure compliance with safety guidelines and company policies.
  • Maintain a Safe and Respectful Work Environment: Cultivate and maintain a climate on center that is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect, providing a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
  • Communicate Effectively: Clearly communicate and consistently model appropriate Career Success Standards (CSS) and employability skills, including personal responsibility and computer fluency.
  • Maintain Accountability: Maintain accountability of staff, students, and property, adhering to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Three to six months' food preparation training and related food service work experience preferred.
  • Certifications: Must possess or be able to obtain ServSafe food safety certification.
  • Additional Requirements: Well-developed habits of personal cleanliness and hygiene, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and ability to work some weekends and flexible hours.
