About the Role

Urban Owl is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Retail Store Manager to join our team. As a key member of our retail operations, you will be responsible for supporting the Store Manager in achieving sales goals, overseeing daily retail operations, and developing and implementing sales strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet Sales Goals: Drive sales growth and meet daily sales targets.
  • Track and Report Progress: Monitor and report on monthly, quarterly, and annual objectives.
  • Oversee Daily Retail Operations: Ensure seamless day-to-day operations, including inventory management and customer service.
  • Develop Sales Strategies: Collaborate with the Store Manager to create and implement aggressive sales plans.
  • Manage Inventory and Supplies: Monitor and maintain backroom supplies inventory to ensure efficient operations.
  • Evaluate Employee Performance: Work with the Store Manager to identify hiring and training needs, and evaluate employee performance.
  • Supervise and Motivate Staff: Lead and motivate sales associates to achieve their best performance.
  • Coach and Support Sales Associates: Provide guidance and support to new and existing sales associates.
  • Analyze Sales Data: Create reports, analyze, and interpret retail data, including revenues, expenses, and competition.
  • Conduct Audits: Regularly inspect the store to ensure it is functional and presentable.
  • Enforce Company Policies: Ensure all employees adhere to company policies and guidelines.
Requirements and Skills
  • Sales Experience: 2 years of sales experience in a retail environment.
  • Retail Management: 2 years of retail management experience.
  • Assistant Manager Experience: Proven experience as a Retail Assistant Manager or similar position.
  • Recruiting and Performance Evaluation: Experience with recruiting and performance evaluation processes.
  • Financial and Customer Service Principles: Familiarity with financial and customer service principles.
  • Math Skills and Report Analysis: Good math skills with the ability to create and analyze reports, spreadsheets, and sales statistics.
  • MS Office Proficiency: Proficient user of MS Office, particularly MS Excel.
  • Leadership and Organizational Abilities: Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving Attitude: A problem-solving attitude and flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and nights.
  • Education: BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus.
