Assistant Store Manager

Job Summary:

The Assistant Store Manager will partner with the Store Manager to drive sales, operations, and talent management in an MCM retail location. This role will execute plans and strategies to support store functions, ensuring a positive work environment and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet or exceed sales targets, including top and bottom-line results for the location
  • Resolve customer issue trends by investigating problems, developing solutions, and coaching staff
  • Train sales associates on standard operating procedures and ensure they understand their impact on the business
  • Monitor inventory planning and maintain proper inventory metrics
  • Implement loss prevention procedures to minimize unnecessary loss and increase security
  • Review the retail profit and loss statement to identify opportunities to improve profitability
  • Analyze and react to business needs, identifying top sellers, slow sellers, and merchandising strategy fulfillment
  • Perform store opening and closing procedures in alignment with company standards

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of store management experience, with a preference for fashion brands
  • BA or BS degree
  • Experience working with affluent and luxury brands is an asset
  • Experience in maintaining operational excellence in retail stores, including payroll, shrink management, and inventory management
  • Proven leadership qualities in developing and mentoring

Physical Demands:

  • Leadership skills, including recruitment and development of talent
  • Strong grasp of presenting to groups and managing product knowledge sessions
  • Solid understanding of retail math and using analytics in a business environment
  • Operations specialist, driving performance through internal KPIs
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work retail hours
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
