Nurse Residency Program Coordinator

Job Summary
The Nurse-Resident role at Prisma Health involves attending quality and core curriculum classes, participating in professional development workshops, and completing clinical competencies and validation requirements of the Nurse Residency Program. This position works under the supervision of the Clinical Education Team, refining nursing knowledge and skills, and managing clinical situations under the direct supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse. The Nurse-Resident is expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's Compassion Standards, Mission, Vision, and Values.
Responsibilities
- Assessment: Collects patient data, completes required forms, and identifies patient problems/needs.
- Planning Care: Develops a plan of care based on nursing process and incorporates the plans of other disciplines.
- Implementing/Managing Care: Provides treatments and procedures as prescribed, and demonstrates understanding of age-related characteristics and needs of patients served.
- Leadership: Delegates nursing care to appropriate personnel, integrates cost-effective measures into nursing practice, and recognizes unit problems.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing program approved by the South Carolina State Board of Nursing required.
- Licensed to practice as a RN in South Carolina.
- BLS required.
Work Environment
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. The work environment is a hospital setting, and the Nurse-Resident will work in the Operating Room at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
