Nurse Residency Program Coordinator

Job Summary

The Nurse-Resident role at Prisma Health involves attending quality and core curriculum classes, actively participating in professional development workshops and peer support groups, and successfully completing all clinical competencies and validation requirements of the Nurse Residency Program. This position works under the direct and indirect supervision of the Clinical Education Team while refining nursing knowledge and skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collects patient data and completes required forms with appropriate responses according to unit standards.
  • Develops a plan of care based on nursing process and which incorporates the plans of other disciplines and continuing care needs.
  • Provides treatments/procedures and other care as prescribed and according to patient care standards.
  • Records patient care delivered as planned and any variation, with appropriate rationale.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Nursing required.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing program approved by the South Carolina State Board of Nursing required.
  • Licensed to practice as a RN in South Carolina.

Work Environment

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. The work environment is a hospital setting with a focus on adult multispecialty services.
