Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Lead to join our team at Walgreens. As a Shift Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring a positive customer experience, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Experience
    • Engage with customers and patients, providing exceptional service and resolving any issues that may arise.
    • Model and share customer service best practices with team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
  • Operations
    • Hold store keys to open and close the store without management as necessary.
    • Assist with and coach team members on warehouse and vendor ordering processes, including opening the back door for vendor deliveries.
    • Responsible for registering all related sales on assigned cash register, including records of scanning errors, price verifications, and voids.
    • Assist manager or assistant store manager in reviewing order exceptions on order release day and assist in reverse logistics.
    • Assist manager or assistant store manager in evaluating and developing displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise.
    • Maintain accurate inventory counts and ensure the accuracy of on-hand quantities.
    • Assist with ensuring the Outdate program is followed with team members.
    • Responsible for basic department pricing and making daily price changes.
    • Assist with bookkeeping activities, including cash report, cash counts, ledgers, and bill payment as necessary.
    • Assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring a clean, neat, and orderly store condition and appearance.
    • Support execution of Pickup program.
    • Have working knowledge of store systems and store equipment.
    • Assist at Pharmacy out window as requested in states where allowed without licensure, certification, or registration.
    • Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
    • Responsible for bag checks of team members before leaving the store.
    • Comply with all company policies and procedures and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
  • Training & Personal Development
    • Attend training and complete PPLs requested by Manager.
  • Communications
    • Serve as a liaison between management and non-management team members by communicating assigned tasks to team members when store management is not present.
    • Report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.
Requirements
  • One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
  • Obtains and maintains valid PTCB or ExCPT certification or pharmacy license as required by state.
