About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nail Care Specialist to join our team at Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa. As a Nail Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional nail care services to our guests, ensuring a safe and professional experience in accordance with our protocols and California State Board requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Nail Care Services: Perform nail care services on guests using safe and professional techniques, ensuring clients' comfort and discreet draping at all times.
  • Maintain Sanitation and Sterilization Standards: Uphold all standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by California State Board requirements.
  • Provide Consistent Professional Nail Treatments: Maintain an ample inventory of all products in treatment rooms necessary to perform all nail services.
  • Sanitize and Clean Working Area: Sanitize and clean working areas after every service, and at the end of each shift, preparing the room for the next day or shift.
  • Maintain Implements and Equipment: Maintain all implements for performing manicures, including clippers and cuticle trimmers, and sterilize them after every use.
  • Arrive on Time and Greet Guests: Arrive on time for scheduled shifts, greet guests promptly for their service, and perform the treatment within the allotted time.
  • Offer Flexibility and Maintain Professional Appearance: Offer flexibility with schedule of availability to meet the variable demand for nail services, and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Prepare Treatment Rooms and Maintain Knowledge: Prepare treatment rooms to protocol, perform prep work, properly clean and restock treatment rooms, and complete side work duties as assigned. Maintain a thorough knowledge of all treatments on the spa menu, including indications, contraindications, and protocols.
  • Actively Promote Spa and Fitness Offerings: Actively promote spa and fitness offerings and retail products for homecare to guests.
  • Attend Mandatory Meetings and Trainings: Attend mandatory team meetings and trainings, and attend all Forbes trainings.
  • Participate in Safety Programs and Community Service: Actively participate in safety programs and abide by all injury reporting and safety behavior requirements, and participate in and support Rancho Valencia's efforts towards community service, sustainability, and environmental initiatives.
  • Communicate with Management: Communicate with management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests that require attention, handle concerns professionally and courteously, and maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
Requirements
  • California State Board License: Must hold and maintain a current California state license.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Communicates clearly in English with guests, staff, and vendors to their understanding.
  • Excellent Eye for Detail and Multi-Tasking: Excellent eye for detail, ability to multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability and Experience: Available to work holidays, mornings, evenings, and weekends, and minimum 5 years of experience.

  • Discretion and Confidentiality: Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality of all guests and hotel information.
  • Ability to Remain Calm Under Pressure: Ability to remain calm under pressure.

  • Excellent Communication and Computer Skills: Excellent communication skills and basic computer knowledge.
