Ryder is seeking a skilled Pallet Repair Specialist to join our team in Ontario, CA. As a key member of our facility, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our pallets.
Key Responsibilities- Safely and efficiently repair pallets to meet company standards and safety protocols.
- Operate a pry bar to detach damaged boards from pallets, and use a hammer, grinder, and saw to remove existing nails and reassemble components.
- Manually lift 70 lb pallets from a stack to a repair table, and ensure all repaired pallets meet and pass CHEP's quality control audit.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area, and conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety and compliance with OSHA and MSDS standards.
- Wear all necessary safety equipment while repairing pallets, and perform other duties as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 0 to 1 year of experience in carpentry or construction background preferred.
- Ability to comprehend basic math and operate power tools in a safe manner.
- Must be able to follow repair process, twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level, and crouch on a frequent basis.
- Must be able to use proper techniques to lift a minimum of 75 lbs, and stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Able to use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements.
