Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to join our team at Flatiron Construction. As an Engineering Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of construction projects by providing technical support and expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project crews to review production schedules and confirm the availability of materials, equipment, and resources.
  • Assist with shop drawing analysis, design specifications, material requirements, and project data to ensure quality and contract specification compliance.
  • Provide technical input for project work plans and scheduling, identifying potential risks that could impact the budget or schedule.
  • Evaluate daily production, schedule, and budget projections to accurately track project performance.
  • Document daily activities using Company-approved methods and technologies.
  • Remit accurate project quantity input and controls using assigned project cost coding to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Review project specifications for quality assurance at the beginning of work, during the project, and after completion.
  • Work with construction crews and engineering leaders to plan field layouts, ensuring proper utility and commercial line marking before production begins.
  • Conduct required Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) to ensure a safe and compliant work environment for all construction personnel.
  • Coordinate subcontractor work methods, schedules, and crews as needed.
  • Support close-out activities at the end of the project.
Requirements
  • Two-year degree or training required.
  • 1 year of experience preferred.
  • Required company or regulatory certifications.
  • Required company Safety certifications.
  • Construction engineering experience or knowledge required.
  • Beginner knowledge of construction equipment, techniques, drawing, specifications, building materials, and required standards applicable to the project.
  • Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others.
