Job Title: ACI Engineering Technician I

About the Role

The ACI Engineering Technician I is responsible for performing field inspections and construction materials testing as needed to ensure conformance with construction plans and specifications. The Technician is also responsible for preparing inspection daily reports and testing data sheets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.
  • Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (e.g., soil, concrete, or other) and provide assessment of data through reporting.
  • Work utilizing drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
  • Use specific methods to observe site activities and perform tasks.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
  • Operate a calculator to calculate mathematical test results.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
  • Must be aware of and adhere to safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work.
Requirements
  • ACI Concrete I Certification required.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record is required.
  • Effective communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) and solid interpersonal skills are required.
  • Basic math, calculator, and computer skills are required.
  • The ability to read and understand work plans is required.
  • Must be able to work off-shift and overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, move, push, and pull up to 50 pounds if needed. Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound.
  • Ability to kneel and squat occasionally.
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold).
  • Ability to climb occasionally.
Preferred Requirements and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Experience performing field and/or construction materials testing and/or inspections is preferred.
  • APNGA Nuclear Gauge Safety Class Certification preferred.
  • OSHA 10 preferred.
