Job Summary

Terracon is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technician III to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials. Your expertise will be utilized to ensure the quality and safety of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Field Testing and Inspection: Perform field testing and inspection of construction materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel.
  • Communication and Documentation: Communicate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders regarding project requirements, testing, and inspection results.
  • Sample Transportation and Analysis: Transport material samples to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
  • Report Preparation and Submission: Prepare and submit data and observation reports to the project manager.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Safety: Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas, adhering to strict safety standards.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent in training and related experience.
  • Skills: Experience with laptop computer use and Microsoft Word and Excel.
Certifications
  • ACI Certification: Certification in one or more of the following areas: Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I, Concrete Strength Testing Technician, Certified in radiation safety and Nuclear Density Gauge operation.
  • American Welding Society (AWS) Certification: Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or ASNT Level II certification in more than one of the following areas: Visual Testing (VT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Dye Penetrant Testing (PT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
