Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Bilingual Registered Nurse to join our Endoscopy team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account the patient's unique needs and preferences.
  • Administer medications, including IV medications, via the Seven Rights, and document and communicate clinical findings.
  • Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained, and participate in emergency measures as needed.
  • Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients, adhering to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that patient medical records contain necessary information, and participate in orientation and precepting of new personnel.
Requirements
  • 1 year of directly related experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Bilingual English/Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo, or Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer within 30 days.
  • RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification within 6 months.
  • Basic Arrhythmia Certification within 1 year.
  • PALS within 6 months of position.
  • Conscience Certification within 1 year of position.
Working Conditions

This position requires heavy work, exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.

This position also requires working in a department where there is a significant hazard of chemicals and biohazardous materials, requiring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
