Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Bilingual Registered Nurse to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, utilizing your bilingual skills to ensure seamless communication.
  • Participate in patient education, discharge planning, and patient/family teaching, promoting a positive patient experience.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement and document individualized care plans, incorporating age-specific considerations.
  • Administer medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights, documenting and communicating clinical findings.
  • Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained.
  • Participate in emergency measures for sudden, adverse developments in patients, utilizing your critical thinking skills to respond effectively.
Requirements
  • 1 year of directly related experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Bilingual English/Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo, or Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification within 30 days.
  • RN licensure in New Mexico or reciprocal agreement.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification within 6 months.
  • Basic Arrhythmia Certification within 1 year.
Working Conditions

This position requires heavy work, exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.

This role involves working in a hospital setting, with potential exposure to chemicals, biohazardous materials, and other hazards requiring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
