Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with bilingual abilities to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a Bilingual Registered Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care to patients while communicating effectively with patients and families who speak different languages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients, including administering medications, performing procedures, and documenting patient information.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families who speak different languages, including English and Spanish.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Participate in orientation and precepting of new personnel.
Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in New Mexico or reciprocal agreement.
  • 1 year of direct experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish or other languages as required by the facility.
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification.
  • PALS certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic Arrhythmia Certification within 1 year of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within 6 months of hire.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The Registered Nurse must be able to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and stand for long periods of time. The position also requires the ability to work in a chemical and bio-hazardous environment, with proper personal protective equipment (PPE) provided.
