Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:
  • Work in close partnership with the GE Edison Works business development team to identify, attract, and secure new contracts that focus on advanced propulsion system capabilities, ensuring alignment with both business objectives and customer needs.
  • Engage in long-term strategic planning and contribute to the overarching business strategy.
  • Concentrate on systems integration by collaborating with the GE EW Project counterpart to support Advanced Propulsion System studies.
  • Identify customer demand and protect intellectual property.
  • Lead advanced studies, proposal development, preliminary cost estimations, and roadmap initiatives.
  • Guarantee high-quality proposals, timely submissions, and competitive responses for OEM/DoD Requests for Information and Proposals.
  • Build and maintain robust relationships with Weapon Systems Contractors or DoD Agencies to enhance GE's positioning in customer interactions.
  • Effectively manage budgets and timelines.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, including at least 5 years in Propulsion Preliminary Design or Propulsion Systems Engineering (Aero/Mechanical/Thermal).
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Security Clearance due to the nature of the position; U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with proven experience in customer engagement.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in program management, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and reviews.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
Preferred Attributes:
  • Experience with Weapon Systems Contractors or DoD customers and processes.
  • Background in early Technology Readiness Level multi-disciplinary programs.
  • Experience in leading or supporting proposals or securing external funding.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to excel in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proven capability to lead through influence.
  • Advanced Degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics is advantageous.
