About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team at Palomar Christian Conference Center. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for the overall management of our Maintenance department, ensuring the proper maintenance and/or construction of all buildings, grounds, and equipment, as well as all infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work cohesively with the Lead Director and other managers to achieve the mission and strategic vision of Palomar Christian Conference Center.
  • Lead the Maintenance department to serve with excellence in all areas of responsibility, prayerfully guiding the team to make a positive impact for Christ.
  • Interview, instruct, train, and supervise all maintenance personnel, recommending hiring or dismissal as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and maintain accurate records of expenditures for current construction and repair projects.
  • Submit operational and capital improvement budgets for approval and maintain expenditures within allocated funds.
  • Provide regular reports and data on maintenance operations as requested by the Lead Director.
  • Ensure the overall safety of Palomar Christian Conference Center, eliminating fire or safety hazards and maintaining fire breaks in accordance with CDF recommendations.
  • Oversee the maintenance of all facilities, grounds, and infrastructure, including repairs, replacements, and renovations.
  • Ensure that all systems are installed to industry standards and that the water system is properly maintained and tested regularly.
  • Supervise the maintenance of fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems, as well as the swimming pool, to ensure compliance with county standards.
  • Manage the preventative maintenance program for all mechanical equipment, including vehicles, dozers, backhoes, golf carts, and maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Serve as project manager for all building construction and/or renovation projects, securing necessary permits and working with volunteers to ensure proper instructions and materials.
  • Provide utilities to point-of-use as requested by departmental staff.
  • Ensure that all firewood is prepared and ready for winter use, and that all slash is chipped or prepared for burning.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and unobstructed workspace, and adhere to regular attendance and punctuality standards.
Requirements
  • Demonstrate a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, exercising faith through daily living in accordance with God's Word.
  • Understand and agree with the mission and Statement of Faith of Palomar Christian Conference Center.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills to maintain positive relations with staff and guests.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail and organization while managing multiple priorities.
  • Be proficient in basic Microsoft applications and possess good managerial and interpersonal skills.
  • Hold a journeyman's rating in a construction trade, maintenance technician, or equivalent experience.
  • Have at least five years of experience in maintenance and/or construction responsibilities.
  • Be able to spend extended periods standing, sitting, walking, and lift over the head and bend over.
  • Be able to work in inclement weather conditions.
