Role Overview
The Fixed Maintenance Mechanic plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of milling equipment. This position requires a proactive approach to maintenance and troubleshooting, contributing to the overall success of mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate essential support machinery, including overhead cranes and forklifts.
- Conduct bearing analysis and installation.
- Execute basic mechanical projects and maintenance tasks.
- Perform lubrication of small equipment, manage oil storage, and ensure proper disposal of waste oil.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair milling equipment as needed.
- Collaborate with mill operations and technical services teams to facilitate general maintenance and capital projects.
- Respond to equipment emergencies on a 24-hour basis as required.
- Mentor and develop team members in maintenance tasks.
Compliance and Safety
- Adhere to all company policies, including safety and environmental regulations.
- Maintain a safe working environment and demonstrate a commitment to safe practices.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of lubrication processes and equipment maintenance.
- Basic mechanical skills, including cutting and welding techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Understanding of mining operations and maintenance practices.
- Proficient in using computer software for documentation and reporting.
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in equipment maintenance is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
