Job Description

At Nexus Children's Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavioral Intervention Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Behavioral Health Program, you will play a vital role in providing direct behavioral intervention to patients with intellectual developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, and traumatic brain injuries.

Under the administrative supervision of the Behavioral Health Program Director and clinical supervision of the BCBA, you will be responsible for implementing behavioral interventions during patients' everyday individual and program activities. This includes facilitating patient behavior plans, completing 1:1 sessions, and implementing groups.

You will also be responsible for collecting preference assessments, monitoring patients' physical and emotional well-being, and reporting to clinical staff. Additionally, you will participate in clinical meetings regarding behavior modifications and work collaboratively with rehabilitation services to promote functional independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement behavioral interventions during patients' everyday individual and program activities
  • Facilitate patient behavior plans and complete 1:1 sessions
  • Implement groups and document patient participation and response
  • Collect and record patient daily behavioral logs and other behavioral data collection
  • Work with rehabilitation services to promote functional independence

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., psychology, education, or a related field)
  • At least three years of experience in working in an Applied Behavior Analysis setting
  • Previous or current licensure as a Registered Behavior Technician
  • Certification in SAMA within 30 days of employment
  • Certification in AHA BLS
