Position Summary

The Mechanical Assembly Technician is responsible for coordinating tasks with fellow manufacturing personnel to meet customer demands, including box build and coating processes, while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and customer standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate under close supervision, with frequent monitoring of output.
  • Follow established procedures to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
  • May receive exposure to advanced functions as part of ongoing training.
  • Select appropriate procedures to execute assigned duties.
  • Address routine inquiries and issues, escalating more complex matters as necessary.
  • Assemble final products according to customer specifications and collaborate with team members to manage tasks requiring multiple personnel.
  • Utilize manual and automated lifting equipment while adhering to safety standards.
  • Provide updates and coordinate action plans during cross-functional meetings, communicating issues effectively with team members.
  • Be prepared to work overtime as needed and adapt to shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and place orders as required to fulfill customer needs.
  • Assist in maintaining organization within the workspace, adhering to 5S principles.
  • Stay informed about spare parts inventory locations for efficient order fulfillment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on tools as per established schedules, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Coating Responsibilities (if applicable)

  • Execute manual conformal coating of products according to specified guidelines.
  • Prepare assemblies for automated coating processes and operate necessary equipment.
  • Maintain spray equipment, including spray guns and booths.
  • Ensure proper handling and labeling of assemblies and components.
  • Accurately maintain daily logs and records.
  • Utilize barcode scanners and hand tools effectively.
  • Inspect assemblies for proper masking and material placement.
  • Work under the direct supervision of the manufacturing supervisor or designated leader.
  • Follow detailed instructions, including visual aids, to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area according to 5S standards.
  • Adhere to all safety and health regulations as directed.
  • Comply with company security policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Ability to effectively communicate and respond to inquiries from various stakeholders.
  • Proficient in problem-solving, data collection, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Competent in operating a personal computer and familiar with Windows-based systems.
  • Advanced PC skills, including knowledge of Jabil's software applications.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and understand visual aids.
  • Capable of following straightforward instructions and dealing with standardized situations.
  • Basic mathematical skills for calculations and data interpretation.
