Position Overview: As a Senior Technical Sales Consultant focusing on our Space Solutions division, you will become an integral part of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering innovative space-based services to the US Federal Government. Your role will involve direct collaboration with Spire Account Executives and federal clients to comprehend operational needs, qualify potential opportunities, and devise space-centric solutions. You will work closely with your Sales Engineering peers and the Space Program team to create customer-oriented solutions that utilize Spire's small satellite platforms, payloads, and global infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate within a small team to provide technical assistance throughout the sales process, engaging in pre-sales discussions with Space Solutions clients to evaluate requirements and propose optimal solutions.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for Space Solutions clients during the sales process and onboarding phase.
  • Prepare and present technical demonstrations and documentation that articulate Spire's offerings to prospective clients.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to assess the feasibility of customer-driven solutions, refine the scope and technical specifications of complex space mission programs, and advocate for customer needs within the organization throughout the sales cycle.
  • Serve as a key liaison between the sales and internal engineering teams, providing regular product updates and training to the sales personnel.
  • Assist the sales team in crafting technical proposals and generating or sourcing technical content tailored to the client's specific applications or challenges, ensuring timely delivery to meet customer deadlines and sales goals.
  • Collaborate with the sales team and product managers to identify gaps in existing capabilities, driving the technology roadmap and enhancing the product suite.
  • Support initial Space Solutions program execution through the System Requirements Review, providing systems engineering support to document customer requirements and facilitate a smooth transition from sales to execution.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a customer-facing technical capacity.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems), Computer Science, Physics, or a comparable combination of technical expertise and work experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in satellite mission design, development, and testing, with a solid understanding of key mission design considerations and scope drivers.
  • Familiarity with satellite design and orbital simulation tools.
  • Experience in mechanical systems design and CAD software.
  • Knowledge of satellite-based remote sensing and Earth observation methodologies.
  • Understanding of the radio frequency spectrum, including experience in calculating link budgets for RF payload receivers.
  • Experience in application or script development, preferably in Python.
  • Proficiency in writing technical reports and proposals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building client relationships and effectively communicating with cross-functional team members.
  • Excellent comprehension skills to quickly grasp complex customer requirements and identify comprehensive and sometimes unique solutions.
  • Possession of an active US Government Security Clearance.

Access to US export-controlled software and/or technology may be necessary.

Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this position is competitive and will be determined based on location, skills, experience, and qualifications. In addition to base compensation, this role may be eligible for discretionary annual equity awards and is part of our comprehensive employee benefits program.
