Job Overview

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and transfer clients weighing 70-75 lbs. Work involves active engagement both indoors and outdoors.
  2. Utilize approved protective techniques to ensure safety for yourself, clients, and colleagues.
  3. Foster a supportive learning atmosphere; develop methods to assist clients in managing social, emotional, and physical challenges in daily life, promoting independence.
  4. Execute personalized programs based on the interdisciplinary team's assessment of clients' unique needs. Document all teaching strategies, track clients' progress, and identify any obstacles to advancement.
  5. Observe and report daily medical, physical, and behavioral changes in clients to the Day Program Manager or Program RN. Ensure thorough documentation of any issues in clients' records and report to the appropriate authorities as necessary.
  6. Adhere to prescribed dietary plans for each client; assist with meal preparation when needed.
  7. Ensure cleanliness of the Day Program facility, both inside and outside; assist with laundry duties; maintain the cleanliness of vehicles and promptly report any maintenance needs to the Day Program Manager.
  8. Respect clients' privacy rights and comply with confidentiality policies.
  9. Engage professionally with supervisors, colleagues, families, and community members.
  10. Participate in mandatory training sessions (e.g., in-services, staff meetings, conferences) as required; maintain all necessary training certifications.
  11. Accompany clients on various community outings using agency vehicles.
  12. Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE AND A CLEAN DRIVING RECORD.

Public Service License may be necessary depending on the type of transport vehicle utilized. Must be obtained within a specified timeframe after hiring.

2. EDUCATION: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant Human Services field or an Associate's degree with one year of experience is preferred. A high school diploma or GED is the minimum requirement.

3. TRAINING: Certification in FIRST AID, CPR, and PMT is required for this position. Must complete CPR and First Aid training within a specified period after hiring. Attendance at all required training sessions is mandatory. Medication certification is also required or must be obtained.
