Job Overview

AEROSPACE COMPONENT TECHNICIAN

Shift Schedule: 3PM-1:30AM Monday-Thursday or 5AM-5:30PM Friday-Sunday

Position Summary:

- Engage in the meticulous assembly of rocket propulsion parts, including combustion systems, valves, turbomachinery, and avionics.

- Conduct root cause analysis and diagnostic disassembly, repair, and maintenance of components.

- Perform Nitrogen and Helium leak assessments.

- Prepare components for environmental evaluations.

- Execute hydrostatic testing to ensure structural integrity.

- Uphold stringent cleanliness standards, particularly for liquid and gaseous oxygen compatibility.

- Assist in the design, acquisition, installation, and integration of specialized manufacturing and testing apparatus.

- Aid in the management of tooling and equipment inventory.

- Safely handle hazardous materials, chemicals, and high-pressure systems.

- Determine preparation methods for hardware testing, qualification, and flight readiness.

- Identify, develop, and implement innovative manufacturing techniques to enhance quality, reduce expenses, and streamline production timelines.

- Contribute to the creation of manufacturing work instructions to clearly outline processes such as receiving inspection, fabrication, assembly, testing, integration, and refurbishment.

- Recognize non-conformances and support corrective action initiatives.

Required Skills:

Proficiency in blueprint reading, GD&T, tolerances, assembly techniques, calipers, torque wrenches, micrometers, precision tooling, design, inspection, sheet metal work, CAD software, and Excel.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in manufacturing or engine assembly.
  • Expertise in precision assembly with tight tolerances.
  • Strong capability to interpret engineering schematics.
  • Extensive experience in understanding specifications and detailed operational instructions.
  • Demonstrated success in developing new processes.
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, technical, and software skills (CAD, scheduling, issue tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to build trust, maintain positive professional relationships, and foster an inclusive culture.
