Senior Underwriter Flood Specialist

About the Role:

Torrent Technologies, a leading flood insurance administrator, seeks a highly skilled Senior Underwriter Flood Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for applying complex National Flood Insurance Program rules and regulations to individual flood insurance policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze quotations, services existing book of business, and utilize appropriate software to evaluate recommendations and determine policy approval.
  • Process endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements, and handle billing issues and completes policy issuance.
  • Provide customer service to agents, respond to phone support, online chat, and emails, and meet required production KPIs as defined by leadership.
  • De-escalate difficult customers and bring situations to complete resolution.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to group activities, including daily huddles, team meetings, and training opportunities.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Underwriting experience.
  • 2+ Flood insurance experience is required.
  • Strong organizational, time management skills, and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with team members and clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Basic to intermediate technical knowledge of systems and procedures.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Basic computer knowledge and comfortable using the Microsoft suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
