Position Summary

The Patient Services Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the Bone and Joint Institute of Tennessee. This position involves managing patient appointments, maintaining accurate records, and delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

As a Patient Services Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Efficiently scheduling patient appointments using Allscripts and Meditech systems.
  2. Maintaining up-to-date patient information and records.
  3. Providing basic medical guidance under the supervision of healthcare professionals.
  4. Ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and informing patients about their rights.
  5. Communicating changes in office policies to patients effectively.
  6. Scanning and organizing patient documentation.
  7. Verifying patient insurance details for eligibility and pre-certification.
  8. Maintaining clear communication with all team members.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a medical office setting.
  • Proficiency in using office equipment, including computers, printers, and fax machines.

Work Environment

This position is primarily office-based, requiring the ability to sit, stand, and communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms.
