Diesel Mechanic and Heavy-Duty Equipment Specialist

At Performance Foodservice, we're committed to delivering exceptional service and quality products to our customers. We're seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic and Heavy-Duty Equipment Specialist to join our team.
Job SummaryThis role involves performing routine maintenance, repairs, and overhauls of our company fleet's diesel equipment to ensure safe operations and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities- Perform preventative maintenance on medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, reefer units, and convertor dollies under minimal supervision.
- Identify root causes of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required.
- Ensure equipment has required licensing and registration prior to being deemed 'roadworthy'.
- Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system.
- Install, replace, and repair onboard computers.
- Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure they're in proper operating condition.
- Train/provide guidance to other Mechanics.
- High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
- 3-5 years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair experience including PMs, tire & wheel, air & disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair, and refrigeration experience.
