Job Description

The Ambulatory Care Nurse Specialist at White Plains Hospital Center plays a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in an outpatient setting. As a key member of the healthcare team, this nurse specialist is responsible for assessing, planning, and intervening in actual or potential health problems, ensuring comprehensive care that meets each patient's unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understand and adhere to WPH Performance Standards, Policies, and Behaviors
  • Demonstrate clinical, technical, service, and administrative skills
  • Systematically assess patient physical, psychosocial, and spiritual health status and knowledge base to determine patient healthcare and educational needs
  • Provide and/or delegate patient care according to care goals, prioritizing based on patient need
Requirements:
  • BSN required
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current New York RN registration
  • BLS certification required (must be through the American Heart Association)
  • ACLS required (as of 6/1/21) for all RNs working in the Cancer Center or Center for Advanced Medicine & Surgery (CAMS)
Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements:
  • Ability to move about freely at least 85% of the time
  • Frequently moves/transports objects up to 50 pounds and must be able to move patients of all weights with a minimum of one assist or assistive device/equipment

The estimated salary for this position is $95,000-$110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong assessment skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
