Principal Responsibilities:

As a Member Experience Associate at the JCC of Stamford, you will be the face of our organization, responsible for maintaining high standards of customer service. You will interact with members, non-members, prospective members, program participants, guests, and staff in a friendly, helpful, and professional manner. Your role will ensure that all interactions with the JCC staff and facilities represent the absolute best experience possible.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create a positive welcoming environment for all who come to the JCC of Stamford
  • Provide exceptional customer service to members, non-members, prospective members, program participants, guests, and staff
  • Check-in members, program participants, and guests using JCC procedures
  • Provide information regarding membership, policies, and procedures, program events, and classes in a timely and efficient manner
  • Answer phones politely and professionally, redirecting calls to the appropriate staff and helping members find solutions directly whenever possible
  • Use JCC membership software to process financial transactions, enter new members, and make changes and updates to member accounts with a high degree of accuracy
  • Take reservations for group exercise classes and sports courts
  • Ensure the welcome desk is kept neat and tidy with all flyers and materials replenished as needed
  • Report maintenance and facilities requests to appropriate staff
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner and represent the JCC in a positive light at all times
Qualifications:
  • Eternal optimist, positively exemplifying interpersonal skills and commitment to providing quality customer service
  • Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and the ability to learn the JCC's membership software
  • Good typing skills and accurate data entry are a must
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, and handle multiple tasks
  • Detail-oriented
  • Dependable and reliable
  • Flexible schedule (some weekend work required at times)
  • A positive, warm, friendly, and personable attitude
  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Minimum of two years of customer service or related experience
