As a Transportation Design Engineer at Actalent, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing transportation infrastructure projects. Your expertise will be utilized to analyze and design various aspects of transportation systems, including interstates, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and multimodal improvements.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and Analysis: Perform transportation design and analysis tasks, including traffic engineering, site grading, stormwater management, erosion control, and site plan preparation.
- Document Preparation: Prepare programming, schematic, design-development, and construction documents as directed.
- Bidding and Construction: Perform transportation services associated with the bidding process, including preparing addenda and amendments, and opening and tabulating bids. Additionally, perform transportation services associated with the construction phase, including field visits, answering RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and preparing record drawings.
- Research and Development: Research and develop manual calculations and analytical models for transportation analysis and design purposes.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in civil/transportation engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience: 3-7+ years of experience designing roadways and associated infrastructure.
- Skills: Proficient with MicroStation (OpenRoads is a plus).
This is a hybrid position, with some days spent on-site in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and others working remotely.
