POSITION SUMMARY

The primary role of the individual in this position is to carry out tasks related to the upkeep and management of both indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities. This role may also involve leading team members by assigning tasks and ensuring their completion. Responsibilities encompass delivering customer service, ensuring safety and cleanliness of facilities, overseeing training sessions, performing routine maintenance, preparing for special events, and maintaining order within the facilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:


• Ensuring the safety and cleanliness of recreational areas and facilities; conducting tests and maintaining appropriate chemical levels in pools; adjusting chemicals based on results; cleaning pools, deck areas, slides, diving boards, entryways, sidewalks, and other fixtures; washing windows; and cleaning carpets and upholstery.


• Monitoring and maintaining equipment and facilities; performing repairs, painting, and servicing of showers, toilets, pool equipment, flooring, surfaces, heating/cooling systems, exercise equipment, and other assigned equipment. Evaluating repair costs to determine options.


• Organizing and maintaining documentation related to work activities, repairs, purchases, and other necessary records.


• Monitoring inventory of supplies and equipment; assessing and determining supply needs.


• May take on a leadership role by assigning tasks and overseeing the completion of work.


• Managing records and information in accordance with relevant regulations and organizational policies.


• Performing additional duties of a similar nature as required.

QUALIFICATIONS: To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are essential:

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

A High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 3 years of experience as a pool operator; or a combination of education and experience that adequately prepares the individual for the responsibilities of the position.

CERTIFICATIONS: A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required. Candidates must possess or be able to obtain pool operator certification.

SKILLS:


• Knowledge of applicable laws and codes regarding pool maintenance;

• Ability to monitor and troubleshoot equipment issues;

• Proficiency in using tools and equipment for repairs;

• Skill in identifying problems and proposing solutions;

• Competence in testing pool chemicals and adjusting balances;

• Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of facilities and equipment;

• Adherence to safe work practices;

• Capability to monitor inventory;

• Providing effective customer service;

• Ordering and replenishing supplies and equipment;

• Proficiency in using computers and relevant software applications;

• Fostering teamwork and communication by collaborating respectfully with colleagues.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, use hands for handling, and reach with arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may occasionally be required to sit and communicate. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
