About the Role

Zappos Tech is in search of a Senior Software Development Engineer to lead technical initiatives within our EngageTech Engineering Team. We are looking for a highly proficient engineer to join our vibrant team. You will be pivotal in designing, developing, and maintaining our software applications. Your extensive knowledge of Java technologies and Amazon Web Services (AWS) will be key to the success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities


• Utilize your expertise to identify and implement innovative technical solutions that align with business objectives and support growth.


• Mentor junior team members to foster sustainable architecture and establish best practices, promoting a culture of quality and craftsmanship.


• Take ownership of critical designs and develop new applications using Java and AWS services.
• Analyze customer challenges, devise solutions, and implement them for efficiency and scalability.


• Collaborate closely with technical teams in an agile setting to deliver optimal technical designs and strategies.
• Create clear and comprehensive software documentation.
• Assess and make informed decisions regarding the adoption of new or existing software products and tools.

Qualifications


• 7+ years of professional experience in software development with Java 8 or higher.


• Proficiency in AWS technologies, including DynamoDB, Redshift, Lambda, ECS, SQS, SNS, and S3.


• Strong expertise in the Spring Framework.


• Experience in leading the design, development, and deployment of complex, high-performance software solutions.


• In-depth understanding of scalable computing systems, software architecture, data structures, and algorithms.


• Proven ability to design, build, deliver, and troubleshoot complex service-oriented systems.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


• Experience in mentoring, serving as a tech lead, or leading an engineering team.


• High School Diploma or equivalent required; a college degree in a related field is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications


• Experience with front-end development.


• AWS Architect Certifications.


• Familiarity with NextJs, React, or Svelte.
