Tenured or Tenure-Eligible Position in Chemical Engineering

The School of Engineering & Applied Science (SEAS) at the University of Virginia (UVA) is seeking a highly qualified candidate for a tenure-eligible or tenured position in the Department of Chemical Engineering. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the department's research, teaching, and service missions.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research in the field of chemical engineering, with a focus on heterogeneous catalysis, electrocatalysis, fuel cells, or chemical conversion devices with an emphasis on energy and sustainability.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in chemical engineering, including lectures, laboratories, and seminars.
- Develop and maintain a strong research program, with a focus on securing external funding and publishing research results in top-tier journals.
- Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work, advising students, and contributing to the development of new programs and initiatives.
- Ph.D. in chemical engineering or a related field.
- Strong research background in heterogeneous catalysis, electrocatalysis, fuel cells, or chemical conversion devices with an emphasis on energy and sustainability.
- Excellent teaching and communication skills.
- Ability to secure external funding for research projects.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
- Postdoctoral research experience in a related field.
- Experience with grant writing and proposal development.
- Strong publication record in top-tier journals.
- Experience with teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds.
