Caterpillar is seeking a highly skilled Retail and Marketing Strategy Manager to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in driving strategic initiatives and actions across our Construction Industry Services Division (CISD) and the enterprise.

Job Summary

This is a highly strategic role that requires effective networking and exceptional interpersonal skills. You will work closely with key business partners, including CISD, MBDs, Component Product Groups, PSLD, Cat Financial, Global Service, and the DSDs, to drive Retail and Small Core STU growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead strategy development to improve results for the department and division.
  • Develop and implement ongoing improvement of the Retail 7 Deliverable framework and its linkage to the Dealer Retail and Small Core Services Growth Plans.
  • Support Breakthrough #4 (Marketing Prioritized Service Events) and Breakthrough #5 (eCommerce Retail Customer Activation).
  • Champion Retail and Small Core Go-to-Market support related to Product with Core Services Development Team.
  • Coordinate and develop annual business plans and department expense budgets.
  • Manage metrics, dashboards, and supporting management tools to monitor performance and develop processes to ensure rigorous data governance.
  • Plan and direct all Retail-related projects viewed as critical to the department and the enterprise.
  • Exceptional networking skills, being accessible, responsive, and focused on delivery and execution.
  • Organize and facilitate leadership meetings, ensuring clear action items and timely follow-up.
  • Provide strategic guidance to the Department Head, often leading or co-leading strategic initiatives outside of functional groups.
  • Attend various executive/department meetings to keep a pulse on the business and help connect the dots with others across the company.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes.
  • Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of relationship management techniques.
  • Experience across an enterprise, including dealer-facing/field roles.
  • Advanced business degree.
  • Proven decision-making capabilities and significant knowledge of Caterpillar organization, associated accountabilities, product mix, and line, market segments, customers, and competitors.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • The ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task in an agile and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to distill high-level communication into meaningful context and actions.
  • Consistently meeting ambitious deadlines and delivering high-quality work on schedule.
  • Ability to navigate and influence in a large matrix organization.
  • Maintains a positive and can-do attitude and approach to work.
  • Strong facilitation skills.
Additional Details

Caterpillar operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week of onsite, in-office work. Travel up to 25% may be required for this role, mostly in North America, but may require international travel.
