Position Overview

Role Summary:

  • Oversee all construction operations within a designated area, reporting directly to the Construction Director.
  • Recruit, mentor, and inspire the construction team to achieve excellence.
  • Enhance operational efficiencies, focusing on cycle times, customer satisfaction, and quality assurance.
  • Collaborate with various departments to meet organizational objectives.
  • Engage in hands-on leadership, participating in on-site activities as necessary.
  • Monitor service work trends and implement corrective measures.
  • Foster strong relationships with subcontractors and act as a key liaison between field teams and upper management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction to construction teams in assigned regions.
  • Ensure the construction department is equipped with skilled personnel proficient in technical and customer service capabilities.
  • Guarantee that construction projects are executed efficiently and within budget.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing team to onboard new trade partners effectively.
  • Work closely with Sales, Purchasing, and Finance teams to resolve issues and enhance coordination.
  • Support land development and acquisition initiatives as required.
  • Collaborate with divisional and corporate leadership as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies at all job sites.
  • Partner with Sales Agents to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate proactively regarding any construction or safety concerns to the Vice President of Construction.
  • Manage production levels and staffing to meet budgetary goals.
  • Maintain warranty service completion rates in line with established targets.
  • Analyze service trends to identify root causes and implement necessary corrections.
  • Control warranty expenses within the designated budget.
  • Address customer and vendor concerns directly to facilitate resolution.
  • Complete additional projects as assigned by management.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of the construction sector, including costs, materials, and methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of trades and equipment necessary for project completion.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
  • Exceptional multitasking and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in various software applications for communication and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptability to changing work conditions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in construction management or mentorship within the homebuilding sector.
  • Demonstrated success as a Field Manager or Project Manager.
  • 7-10 years of experience in homebuilding.
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Familiarity with technology and computer systems.
  • Bilingual candidates, particularly those fluent in Spanish, are preferred.
