About the Role

The School-Based Nurse is a vital member of the CANO Health and Wellness team, responsible for ensuring the health and wellbeing of all CANO students and staff. This role requires administrative and medical responsibilities under the direction of a Registered School Nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide first aid for injuries and administer doctor-approved medication to students
  • Record symptoms of sick students and provide emergency care when necessary
  • Document and report health-related data, including COVID testing and vaccine administration
  • Coordinate contact tracing and maintain accurate records of student visits to the nurse's office
Requirements
  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of two years of school nursing experience
  • Two years of clinical training experience and CPR certification
  • Reliable transportation for schedule rotation and proficient computer skills
  • Excellent communication and organization skills, with the ability to lift 25lbs
