Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist - PRN
Position Overview:
The Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist I is responsible for evaluating and treating children with communication, swallowing, and cognitive challenges. This role involves creating and implementing tailored care strategies using evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes and support families in their understanding of treatment processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts thorough assessments of patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing difficulties to evaluate their communication abilities.
- Develops and executes individualized treatment plans based on assessment results, patient aspirations, and specific needs.
- Provides education to patients and their families regarding treatment protocols, home exercises, and self-management strategies to foster recovery.
- Tracks and documents patient progress, treatment effectiveness, and responses to interventions, adjusting plans as necessary.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to formulate and implement discharge strategies and recommendations for ongoing care.
- Communicates updates and current status to relevant parties, including family members and healthcare professionals.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: A Master's degree in Speech Pathology is required.
- Experience: Relevant clinical experience is preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Must possess a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or be eligible through a Clinical Fellowship Year. Must be licensed by the North Carolina Board for Speech Pathologists and Audiologists during the Supervised Experience Year. Current BLS (CPR) certification is also required.
