Commercial Kitchen Service Technician

Employment/FLSA Status: Full-time, Regular, Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Sign-On Bonus: $1,000

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with restaurant and hospitality management to deliver extensive service solutions for commercial cooking, refrigeration, ware-washing, and specialized food service apparatus.
  • Exhibit mechanical proficiency, diagnostic capabilities, and the ability to interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
  • Effectively troubleshoot, identify issues, and repair commercial kitchen machinery, encompassing cooking, refrigeration, ware-washing, and other specialized food service devices.
  • Engage with manufacturers as necessary to assist with diagnostics and parts identification.
  • Consult with the Technical Assistance Group for expert support while on-site.
  • Install all ordered components for clients promptly and professionally, adhering to company policies.
  • Advocate and suggest additional services offered by Smart Care to clients when appropriate.
  • Generate precise and timely administrative documents, including work orders, time reporting, receipts, and inventory of truck stock.
  • Adhere to safe work practices and accident prevention protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and organized service vehicle, along with accurate inventory of parts and tools.
  • Uphold productivity standards in line with company expectations.
Physical Demands:
  • Capability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, reach, and occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to work with moving mechanical components, pressurized steam apparatus, open flames, heated surfaces, liquids, and potential electrical hazards in damp, humid, or cold environments.
  • Willingness to work on ladders, roofs, and other elevated surfaces.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of technical experience in refrigeration, appliance repair, kitchen equipment, HVAC, or relevant military service.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Willingness to participate in the emergency on-call rotation, including nights and weekends.
  • Availability for occasional overnight travel as required.
  • Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant technical training, licenses, and/or certifications (e.g., EPA, CFESA).
  • Experience in commercial refrigeration and/or commercial cooking equipment repair.
  • Self-driven with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
