About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Academic Success Coach to join our team at KIPP Texas Public Schools. This individual will play a pivotal role in supporting the academic and linguistic success of our Multilingual Learners.

Job Description

The successful candidate will lead professional development for teachers on English Language Development (ELD), linguistic accommodations, and instructional practices for emergent bilingual students. Additionally, they will provide ESL instruction with small groups of newcomer/beginner students for 1-2 class periods per day.

Responsibilities
  • Coaching teachers on effective instructional strategies for emergent bilingual learners, including content and language accommodations.
  • Leading professional development sessions on ELD, linguistic accommodations, and sheltered-instruction.
  • Teaching ESL classes to newcomers, beginners, and intermediates.
  • Communicating with parents of emergent bilingual students and planning Title III parent, family, and community events.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Second Language Acquisition, TESOL, ESL, or Bilingual Education.
  • At least two years of experience teaching Multilingual Learners.
  • Experience as an LPAC member.
  • Demonstrated success in advancing multilingual students' content and language skills.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans, paid time off, and a 457 Roth retirement plan option.
