Job Title: 1st Shift Plant Operator

Overview:

H&K Group, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced 1st Shift Plant Operator to join our team at Birdsboro Quarry. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of plant equipment, maintaining a safe working environment, and contributing to the success of our quarry operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain plant equipment, including crushers and screens, to ensure optimal production and efficiency.
  • Perform daily greasing and oil checks on equipment to prevent mechanical issues and ensure safe operation.
  • Inspect and maintain plant walkways to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct daily guarding inspections and report any maintenance issues to the superintendent.
  • Assist in solving production problems and suggest changes to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and reports daily.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Basic mechanical abilities and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Leadership and teamwork skills, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Ability to fit test and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including lifting and moving up to 25 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ months of related experience and/or training.
  • Experience with equipment maintenance and loader operations.
  • Experience with Q329 caterpillar trackhoe and LT105 portable crusher.
  • MSHA or other relevant safety certifications.

Work Environment:

  • Regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibrations.
  • Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
  • Noise level is usually loud.
