Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee patrons in District facilities and programs, providing a safe and enjoyable experience.
  • Facilitate open skate sessions on and off the ice, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Communicate effectively with the public, providing accurate information and responding to patron and parent questions and concerns.
  • Set up and break down equipment and facilities, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Respond to accidents and incidents according to procedure, prioritizing the safety and well-being of our patrons.
  • Act as a Mandatory Reporter, reporting incidents of child abuse/neglect.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned, demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
Requirements
  • High school graduation or equivalent, or currently attending high school.
  • Some previous related work or volunteer experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of recreation activities and general safety precautions.
  • Ability to handle stressful medical emergencies with a calm and clear head.
Working Conditions
  • Varied work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to walk and stand for sustained periods of time, with frequent climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, and twisting.
  • Exposure to large crowds, uncooperative or difficult individuals, and periods of continuous demand.

Applicants will be screened based on their relevant knowledge, abilities, skills, experience, and training. An offer of employment is contingent on the verification of credentials and other information required by Bend Park & Recreation District policies, including a background check and a driving history review when driving is required for position.
