About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team at Booz Allen Hamilton. As a Satellite Communications Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of Department of Defense (DoD) satellite communications systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement technical solutions for DoD satellite communications systems, including capacity analysis, data transport, and management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and evolve satellite communications systems, including narrowband and commercial SATCOM, 5G mobile technologies, and international SATCOM efforts.
  • Provide strategic technical recommendations to DoD clients and program managers, including authoring analytical, architecture, and engineering products.
  • Present complex concepts to diverse audiences through various written and verbal formats, including white papers, technical briefings, and trade-off analyses.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, including technical requirement analysis, solution alternatives, and implementation approaches.
  • Knowledge of satellite communications, mobile wireless networks, and state-of-the-art commercial or government communications technologies.
  • Ability to provide strategic technical recommendations and present complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Data Science.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience with specialized end-to-end satellite communications systems, including SATCOM terminals and gateways, modems, radio frequency subsystems, and IP networks.
  • Experience with digital engineering, including model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
  • Knowledge of DoD SATCOM community and DoD policies governing acquisition and communication systems and networks.
  • TS/SCI clearance.
  • Master's degree in Systems Engineering or related technology field.
