Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, patient-centered care, utilizing evidence-based practices and guidelines to inform decision-making.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes, making adjustments to care plans as needed to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Stay current with the latest research and developments in acute care nursing, applying this knowledge to improve patient care and outcomes.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, empowering them to take an active role in their care.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement therapeutic plans of care for patients, ensuring effective communication and coordination of care.
  • Participate in the development and revision of clinical guidelines and policies, ensuring that they are evidence-based and aligned with best practices.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to colleagues, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Master's Degree in Nursing and current registration as a Professional Nurse in New York.
  • Registration as a Nurse Practitioner in New York and certification in a relevant specialty area.
  • At least five years of clinical nursing experience in the care of patients in the acute care setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in the acute care setting, with a strong track record of providing high-quality patient care and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

Membership in professional specialty organizations, such as the American Association of Nurse Practitioners or the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Ability to speak multiple languages, with a strong understanding of cultural diversity and the ability to work effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds.
