Position Overview:
The role of the Water Operations Supervisor involves overseeing technical tasks at a supervisory level during assigned shifts, focusing on various construction, repair, maintenance, and operational activities in support of the Water Department.

Key Responsibilities:
- Organize, schedule, supervise, assign, review, and inspect operations, maintenance, and construction activities of the Water Department.
- Lead assigned crews, providing instruction, assigning tasks, and reviewing work to maintain high standards.
- Monitor ongoing work to ensure compliance with established standards and advise crews on best practices.
- Review reports and prepare requests for necessary materials and supplies.

Inventory Management:
- Maintain an inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies, ensuring timely ordering of materials needed for various jobs.
- Conduct routine safety inspections on equipment and coordinate necessary repairs.

Administrative Duties:
- Prepare and process required paperwork and reports in accordance with departmental policies.
- Review timesheets, overtime reports, and related documentation.

Customer Relations:
- Address and resolve complex customer complaints or issues effectively.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in water distribution or treatment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Must possess and maintain valid State of Louisiana Class IV Water Distribution certification or Class IV Water Production and Treatment certifications, depending on the area of assignment.
- High school diploma or GED is required. Candidates with lesser certifications may be considered based on their work history and the department's needs.

Certification Requirements:
- Selected candidates must enter into a written transition plan to achieve certification as a Class IV Distribution Operator or Class IV Water Production and Treatment Operator.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and obtain a valid State of Louisiana driver's license at the time of appointment.
