Summary:

Responsible for using sonography equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic echocardiography to ensure optimal patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform inpatient and outpatient diagnostic cardiac sonograms in accordance with the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) guidelines for digital image acquisition.
  • Responsible for performing and archiving calculations for reporting of all pediatric ultrasound imaging.
  • Perform complete studies on new patients per the ASE for congenital heart patients; download studies and provide calculations for reports per guidelines.
  • Assist in performing Transesophageal Echocardiograms.
  • Assist in research studies when appropriate.
  • Must be certified in pediatric echo by ARDMS or CCI within the first year of employment.
Work Experience:
  • At least 1 year of job-related experience preferred.
Education:
  • Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience required.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Certified in one of the following: Fetal, Adult, Vascular preferred.
  • Certified in pediatric preferred.
  • Must be certified in pediatric echo by ARDMS or CCI within 24 months of employment (ARDMS is preferred over CCI) required.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements required.
