Summary:

Responsible for using sonography equipment to produce quality diagnostic echocardiography to ensure optimal patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs inpatient and outpatient diagnostic cardiac sonograms in accordance with the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) guidelines for digital image acquisition.
  • Responsible for performing and archiving calculations for reporting of all pediatric ultrasound imaging.
  • Performs complete studies on new patients per the ASE for congenital heart patients; downloads studies and provides calculations for reports per guidelines.
  • Assist in performing Transesophageal Echocardiograms.
  • Assist in Research studies when appropriate.
  • Must be Certified in Pediatric Echo by ARDMS or CCI within first year of employment.
WORK EXPERIENCE
  • At least 1 year job-related experience Preferred.
EDUCATION
  • Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience Required.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Certified in 1 one of the following: Fetal, Adult, Vascular Preferred.
  • Certified in the following: Pediatric Preferred.
  • Must be Certified in Pediatric Echo by ARDMS or CCI within 24 months of employment (ARDMS is preferred over CCI) Required.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements Required.
