Job Summary

As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food to the highest standards. This includes portioning, chopping, and storing food, as well as washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables. You will also be responsible for weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, and for preparing and cooking food according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, and for testing foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently. You will also be responsible for monitoring food quality while preparing food, and for setting up and breaking down work stations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
• Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients.
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently.
• Monitor food quality while preparing food.
• Set up and break down work stations.
• Serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles.
• Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
• Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related work experience.
• No supervisory experience.
