Salary Range: $101,197 - $146,733 per year (including geographic differential and downstate adjustment)

About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Infection Prevention Specialist to join our team at the New York State Office of Mental Health. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to play a key role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing infection control programs that adhere to established standards and policies. They will work closely with various departments and committees to ensure effective prevention and control measures are in place. Additionally, they will report on program effectiveness by analyzing data and presenting findings to stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement infection control programs that meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to educate staff on infection prevention practices.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement.
  • Analyze data to track program effectiveness and make recommendations for enhancements.
  • Serve as a liaison between departments and infection control committees to ensure seamless communication and cooperation.
Requirements:
  • Possession of a current Registered Nurse license and three years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience.
  • One year of experience working primarily in the development, implementation, or administration of an infection control program.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing can be substituted for one year of post-licensure clinical nursing experience; Master's degree in nursing can substitute for two years of experience.
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) can substitute for one year of infection control program experience.
