Job Overview

The New York State Office of Mental Health is seeking a highly skilled Infection Control Nurse Specialist to join its team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for developing and implementing an infection control program that adheres to established standards and policies.

Salary Information

The estimated salary range for this position is $101,197 per year, including a geographic pay differential of $35,000 and a downstate adjustment of $3,400.

Job Responsibilities

As an Infection Control Nurse Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing an infection control risk assessment and plan;
  • Providing education programs for patients and staff on infection prevention and control;
  • Gathering, analyzing, and presenting infection data to stakeholders;
  • Serving as a liaison between departments and committees responsible for infection control and prevention services.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must possess a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State, as well as three years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience, with at least one year primarily working in the development, implementation, or administration of an infection control program.
